“AI Gave Us the Opportunity to Create Anything We Wanted” — Andrew Boer on Storytelling and Creating New Worlds

What was the original creative spark behind your film, and why did you choose to tell this story using AI?

Andrew Boer: We actually created this film originally as a part of a 48 hour hackathon style film contest (Soulscape 2026) and won the competition with it. The prompt was “what world will you build”.   We focused on the worlds that are built by parents for their children, and the importance of building a world you would want to live in yourself.

How did working with AI change your role as a filmmaker, artist or storyteller during the process?

Andrew Boer: AI gave us the opportunity to create anything we wanted with all possibilities at our disposal. We were able to create shots and action. We would never be able to achieve

practically all within 48 hours.

Where did you feel most in control of the work, and where did the technology surprise you?

Andrew Boer: We definitely had the most control of our work within the image generation process, and we were consistently surprised with some of the results we got with the video generations, which obviously had the most iterations within them. We were very surprised at how difficult it was to accurately re-create in infant child with AI in the hospital scenario.

We were lucky that my wife is in the medical field and was able to ensure realism and true to life hospital settings.

What part of the film feels most personal to you?

Andrew Boer: This film overall is very important to my wife and I because she is currently expecting and was also expecting during the creation of this film. It was a big inspiration in the mindset behind the world, creating around new life and the cycle of life.

What does being part of MetaMorph 2026 mean to you at this moment in

the evolution of AI storytelling?

Andrew Boer: It is a great honor to be featured amongst so many powerful creators and storytellers from all over the world at Metamorph.  Many of these submissions are very impressive and we are very lucky to be featured amongst them.  Thank you so much for the recognition form the impressive judging panel as well!

Love how the 48-hour challenge became a story about the worlds parents build for their children—and the kind of world they’d want to live in themselves. I’ve been exploring similar ideas with https://sproutsocial.online/sprout-social-free-alternative

Winning Soulscape 2026 with a film built around “what world will you build” is such a fitting origin story. I love the idea of parents creating worlds they’d want to live in too—I've been using https://meshy-ai.pro

The 48-hour hackathon origin makes this even more impressive—turning “what world will you build” into a reflection on the worlds parents create for their children is such a strong idea. I’ve been exploring https://unblurimage.online/blur-to-clear

The “what world will you build” prompt feels especially powerful through the lens of parents creating worlds for their children. Turning that idea into a winning 48-hour film is impressive—I've been using https://ai-ad-creatives.online
